Fillings, Sealants & Crowns
A sealant is an excellent way to prevent your teeth from experiencing tooth decay and other damage. Sealants are plastic material that fit in the grooves and fissures of your teeth that tend to attract bacteria and food particles. Dental sealants work by sealing out food and plaque from the areas where toothbrush bristles can’t reach.
If you or your child have a damaged tooth, your dentist at Clayton Dental might recommend a replacement called a crown. A crown is an artificial tooth cap that is placed on top of an existing tooth. Essentially, it takes the pressure off of the existing tooth while also restoring the shape and function for natural speaking and eating.
Endodontics
By focusing on specific procedures such a root canal treatment, surgery and trauma, we’re experts at efficiently managing a wide array of complex dental health problems. Advanced technologies and specialized techniques give us a very accurate view of the insides of teeth and allow us to treat our patients quickly and comfortably.
At Clayton Dental, we offer endodontic services, ensuring that we protect all of our Clayton patients from tooth loss.
Root Canals
A root canal is a treatment that we use to repair or save a badly damaged tooth. Serious tooth decay may result in an infection of the dental pulp inside of the teeth, and if left untreated, the infection can spread.
Common causes of root canals include a cracked tooth, a deep cavity, repeated dental treatment to that tooth or trauma.
The procedure involves removing damaged or infected dental pulp from inside the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting it and then refilling it once more. While this may sound scary or painful, technology has come a long way in the last few decades. Root canal treatment no longer causes pain—it relieves it!

Problems in this area can cause:

- Pain in the jaw muscles
- Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face
Treatments for TMJ disorders can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite and filling the gaps between teeth. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for all cases. But if left untreated, surgery may be required to repair the damaged joint.
